Tasting - Duchman Sangiovese

Name: Duchman Sangiovese
Variety: 100% Sangiovese
Region: High Plains, Texas
Country: United States
Year: 2010
Price: $19.95

Winery Review: The fruit from ReddyVineyards and Martin Vineyards originates in the High Plains, while Limestone Terrace fruit is grown in the Hill Country just outside Wimberley. Three vineyards, three very distinct takes on Sangiovese. In most vintages we will blend the 3 to make one harmonious wine, but in special years, each of the three crops will be vinified and bottled separately.

My Review: This wine had a very spicy, woody aroma that was almost overpowering. I did not get much flavor from thsi wine but it had a spicy, tannic finish that I did not like.

I did not have this wine with food.
