Tasting - Fattori Runcaris Soave

Name: Fattori Runcaris Soave
Variety: 100% Garganega
Region: Soave
Country: Italy
Year: 2010
Price: $7.95

Winery Review: From the local Italian word for "to work the soil", Runcaris represents an easy, fresh expression of Soave Classico with lingering aromas of citrus, yellow rose, honey, jasmine and dried herbs. - 86

My Review: The first smell I got from this wine was of acidity with a light herb overtone. I did not get any of the citrus, fruit smell. On the palate, it was a very light wine with not a whole lot of fruit flavors and a surprisingly warm finish for a white wine. Overall not bad but I did not find it to have a whole lot of taste.

I did not have this wine with food.

Tasting - Fattori Soave Classico Runcaris

Name: Fattori Soave Classico Runcaris
Variety: 100% Garganega
Region: Veneto
Country: Italy
Year: 2009

Price: $15.00

Winery Review: Mineral, with slight sensations of yellow citrus and yellow pulp fruits. An interesting bouquet of fine herbs, fresh sage and nettle.

My Review:  The initial smell that hit me was a foresty smell. It wasn't woody but smelled like a combination of plants. The other smell I got was a light fruity smell. Taste wise, it felt very full for a white wine and had nice hints of fruit. Overall it was a light wine.

I did not have food with this wine.
