Variety: Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara
Region: Veneto
Country: Italy
Year: 2011
Price: $16.99

Winery Review: The 2011 Valpollicella Ripasso Classico Superiore is exceptionally beautiful and balanced. There's a lot going on: background tones of balsam herb, rosemary and black olive follow straightfoward aromas of dried fruit and prune. A pretty touch of eucalyptus springs forth. The wine is incredibly light, buoyant and lively despite the elaborate Ripasso process. Drink 2014-2018.

My Reivew: This was one of the better reds I have tasted. The wine had a very strong herb aroma with light tones of fruit. After tasting, the tannins had a nice balance in the flavor and did not overpower the wine. The dried fruit flavor came through which was nice. Overall, not a bad red wine.

I did not have this wine with food.
